On 16 December 2009, the Latvian Port Council adopted the new Freeport of Riga development program for the period until 2018. An Environmental review was prepared within the Development program so that all aspects of environmental and social character were taken into account in the implementation process of the „Riga Freeport Development Program for Years 2009-2018”.
