Shipping Lines
The regular shipping line status at the port of Riga is granted to container, RoRo and passenger carriers to attract cargo and passenger flows to the port. The regular shipping line status provides such advantages as port dues rebates that can be enjoyed by vessels during every call to the port, and the amount of the said rebate depends on the number of the line vessel’s calls to the port per year. The allocation of the above mentioned status and rebates is regulated by The Port of Riga Dues and Charges.
In 2012 seven regular container shipping lines operated at the Freeport of Riga, ensuring 567 vessel calls and the cargo volume that exceeded more than 361 000 TEU.
In 2012 a regular passenger line – Tallink – started its operation at the Freeport.
In 2013 seven container shipping lines and one passenger line signed a contract with the Freeport of Riga Authority:
