Shipping Lines
The status of regular shipping line in the Riga Port is assigned to container, Ro-Ro and passenger traffic in order to promote attraction of these cargos to the port. Advantage of the regular shipping line status is discounts of port duties that are applied at each visit to the port; the amount of discounts depends on the number of port visits of ships of the accordant line per year. The procedure for application of line status and discounts is determined by Riga Port duties.
In 2010, 6 regular container traffic lines operated in the Freeport of Riga, in total ensuring 448 times of ship entrances and cargo traffic amount exceeding 255 075 TEU.
There were also two regular passenger traffic lines in the port in 2010 - Tallink and Ave Line.
In 2011, 6 container traffic lines and one passenger traffic line have concluded contracts with the Freeport of Riga Authority:
