Cruising

The cruise season of 2010 in the Riga Port was opened on May 4 with entrance of the 201 meters long cruise ship Mona Lisa in the Riga passenger terminal, and was closed on September 16 with cruise ship N.G. Explorer.

During the season, 63 times of cruise ship entrances in the Riga Port were registered; in total they brought 55 000 tourists from 65 different countries to Riga in this cruise season. The most represented countries were Germany, Sweden, the USA, the Great Britain, and Norway. On 2 June and 22 July 2010, three cruise ships simultaneously were serviced in the passenger terminal of the Riga Port.

4 cruise ships visited the Riga Port for the first time this year: Mein Schiff, Clipper Adventure, Regatta, and Vision of the Seas. Cruise ships that were seen the most often in the Riga Port were Regatta (6 times), Viking Cinderella (4 times), and Vision of the Seas that visited the Riga Port 4 times.

69 cruise ship visits are scheduled for the next year, and the cruise ship season of 2011 is planned to be opened already on May 13 with entrance of the cruise ship Delphin in the Riga Port. Also, several cruise ships that will visit the Riga Port for the first time are expected next year; it is planned that there will be a possibility to see cruise ships like Le Boreal, Mein Schiff2, Costa Pacifica, Clipper Odyssey, Marina, Grand Mistral, Artania and Oriana in the Riga Port.
