On 14 June 2011 in Brussels the European Cruise Council 2011 Ports Summit was held. In the framework of annual conference, for the first year the Ports Summit was organized.

On Friday, June 17th, Kristina Katarina (Kristina Cruises) called the port of Riga for the first time. Kristina Katarina brought to Riga 303 passengers and a crew of 63 people.
Mein Schiff 2 calls port of Riga for the first time

Today the representatives of Freeport of Riga Authority officially welcomed German cruise operator’s TUI Cruises newest cruise vessel Mein Schiff 2 with its first call to the port of Riga. Last summer Riga port welcomed Mein Schiff, this summer already Mein Schiff 2. Captain Michael Block humorously gives a promise for next summer - to visit Riga with Mein Schiff 3 and 4.

Clipper Odyssey and Marina call the port of Riga for the first time

16th of June has been an important day for the port of Riga due to two cruise news. We are proud to announce the welcoming of two maiden calls in one day - Clipper Odyssey (Zegrahm Expeditions) and Marina (Oceania Cruises)! These cruise ships significantly differs each from the other, seemingly their only common feature is the date of the first visit in the port of Riga.

Riga port opens the cruise season 2011

In 19th of May Riga port was called by the first cruise ship of summer season - Le Boreal. This ship's arrival made the cruise season opening a very special event for the port of Riga, because it was Le Boreal’s first visit to Riga.
