The State Audit Office: The Freeport of Riga Authority has implemented all recommendations, provided by the State Audit office in the framework of legality audit “The Freeport of Riga Authority’s operational compliance with legal requirements”

On March 28, 2017, the Freeport of Riga Authority has received the letter of the State Audit Office Fifth Audit Department, which states that the State Audit Office has evaluated explanations and information, provided by the Freeport of Riga Authority, and indicates that the Freeport of Riga Authority has implemented all recommendations, provided in the framework of the State Audit Office’s legality audit “The Freeport of Riga Authority’s  operational compliance with legal requirements” and therefore the State Audit Office audit of the legality of the Freeport of Riga Authority’s operation is  considered to be completed.

“While the public rhetoric and debates between the Freeport of Riga Authority and the State Audit Office have been rather hectic so far, I am glad to receive the said document from the State Audit Office, as another proof of the fact, that the Freeport of Riga Authority works in compliance with all the requirements of the Latvian Republic legislation as well as with the principles of good governance. I hope that our cooperation with the State Audit Office, based on the understanding of the common objectives, will be constructive in the future as well,  and will be focused on the development of the Port, ”says the Chairman of the Board of the Freeport of Riga Andris Ameriks.
