Solar collectors to be installed on buildings of Riga Freeport

Evacuated tube solar collectors will be installed on roofs of three buildings of the Freeport of Riga Authority until autumn 2012, in summer they will provide hot water, but in autumn and spring – additional preheating of heating system with solar energy, reports BC port’s press service.

Cargo turnover at the Freeport of Riga has exceeded the records of previous years and in 2011 it totalled more than 34.07 million tons, an increase of 11.8% over the previous year. As a reminder – in 2010, the Port of Riga handled 30.47 million tons of cargo, informed BC press service of the port.
