The Freeport of Riga Authority does not receive financing from the state or local government budget (excluding public funding for the implementation of infrastructure investment projects from the EU funds). The financial resources of the Freeport Authority comprise of port dues paid by the vessels calling the port of Riga, land and berth rents, as well as revenues for the services provided by the companies operating in the port. The Freeport of Riga Authority follows the principles of non-profit organization - financial resources are used only for the management and development of the port infrastructure, as well as for the implementation of the functions specified in the “Law on Ports”.

The Freeport of Riga Authority has assets related to the port operation in the amount of 453 million EUR. In 2021 the net turnover of the Authority reached 34 million EUR and total tax payments in the state and local government budgets reached 3.4 million in 2021.
